I recently saw this light fixture made from used contact lens cases over at Core77. The chandelier is made by Klaus Rosberg of SONIC.
I've been collecting my own contact lens cases, just knowing that someday I'll find the perfect project to apply them to. I think this chandelier has a visionary look and is focused on a great, upcycled solution.
